Abu Dhabi's ambassador to Washington, to "Bloomberg": Netanyahu will visit the UAE next week

The UAE ambassador to the United States, Yusef Al-Otaiba, revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit Abu Dhabi next week, indicating, according to a report published by the American Bloomberg Agency, that the visit will be many due to the situation of Corona.

The agency said Tuesday that Netanyahu plans to travel to the UAE next week, in the first announced visit by an Israeli official to the country, to strengthen ties of relations, which he announced that he will return completely under the auspices of the United States of America under the administration of former President Donald Trump.

Al-Otaiba said: The Prime Minister of Israel will visit the UAE very soon, but unfortunately the period of the visit has been greatly shortened due to the pressures imposed by the Corona epidemic on everyone, and we expect him to reach our vision next week.

In turn, an Israeli official, who declined to be named, said that the visit was scheduled for mid-February, and Netanyahu had set the schedule for that visit, but it was postponed due to the political unrest in Tel Aviv recently.

Last August, former US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, agreed in a phone call to initiate full bilateral relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

The agreement was followed by a series of meetings between officials of the two countries to discuss the mechanism for returning relations, and bilateral agreements were signed related to the sectors of investment, tourism, direct flights, security, communications, technology, energy, health care, culture, the environment, the establishment of mutual embassies and other areas of mutual interest.

Under the agreement, Israel pledged to stop the plan to annex Palestinian lands in accordance with Trump's peace plan, and its efforts are now focused on strengthening relations with other countries in the Arab and Islamic world. While the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel each believe in the possibility of making additional diplomatic achievements with other countries, they will work together to achieve this goal.
