The Holding Company for Chemical Industries puts the project of building a modern factory for the manufacture of railway hooks as its first priority, due to the expansion of transportation projects, especially the El Alamein Sokhna high-speed train project.
Who will implement the construction of the new factory?
It will be implemented by an Italian international company in cooperation with the Egyptian Company for Pipes, Sigwart, affiliated to the Chemical Holding Company, and specializing in this industry.
Where will the plant be built?
The factory was to be built in the governorate of Qena, but currently, according to the vision of the Ministry of Transport, construction will take place in Alexandria Governorate and other suitable sites are being studied, to be suitable for the El Alamein Sokhna train project.
Where has the factory implementation process reached?
Its machinery and equipment are currently being imported from abroad, and documentary credits have already been opened to purchase equipment, machinery and components of the new factory from Italy.
How much is the initial cost of the new plant?
The initial cost of the plant will be about 10 million dollars.
How useful is the factory in various railway projects?
The importance of this factory is that it is a mobile factory, meaning that it can be dismantled and moved from its place to another place close to the railway projects, due to the heavy volume of flanges and their need for large costs for car transport, and thus the factory’s proximity to the projects saves time, effort and money.
It is expected that the actual and operational steps to establish this project will begin immediately, with the arrival of machines and equipment from abroad to serve the railway sector in Upper Egypt and in Egypt in general.
