Hamdok forms a ministerial committee to follow up the implementation of the decision to unify the exchange rate in Sudan



 The Sudanese Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, issued a decision to form a ministerial committee to follow up the implementation of the decision to unify the national currency exchange rate, and the committee is headed by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and includes in its membership the Ministers of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economic Planning, Culture and Information, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Director of the General Intelligence Service, and the Secretary General of the Sudanese Affairs Abroad.



The decision grants the committee the terms of reference for following up and evaluating the paths of the process of unifying the national currency exchange rate and proposing and reviewing the principles and criteria under which transfers from foreign exchange are made, in addition to tightening coordination with all concerned parties to take the necessary measures to attract foreign currency transfers and adopting a comprehensive national campaign calling on citizens to transfer through banks.



The decision also granted the committee the powers to review documents and documents that assist it to perform its duties and review the daily flows of remittances, provided that the committee submits periodic reports to the Council of Ministers on the position of unifying the national currency exchange rate.

The decision directed the Ministries of Cabinet Affairs, the Interior, Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economic Planning, Culture and Information, the Central Bank of Sudan, and other concerned parties to take measures to implement the decision.
