The Ministerial Fatwa Committee of the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments announced today, Wednesday, the opening of mosques to perform Tarawih prayers during the blessed month of Ramadan, provided that the time does not exceed 30 minutes.
The committee said in a statement today that "the mosques concerned with Friday prayers and the five daily prayers are opened to perform Tarawih prayers, provided that they open for the evening prayer 15 minutes before the call to prayer and close 15 minutes after performing the Tarawih prayer, and the evening prayer is performed immediately after the call to prayer."
The committee stressed the need to respect the physical spacing by leaving a distance of 1.5 meters between the worshipers, and called on the imams to reduce Tarawih prayers and not exceed 30 minutes.
