 The spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Kamal Al-Shakhra, confirmed that the epidemiological situation in Palestine is very dangerous, and there is a very large spread of the "Corona" virus, which is unprecedented. Corona at the Ministry of Health will hold a meeting today with other relevant committees, with the participation of Minister of Health May Al-Kailah, to discuss the latest developments related to the pandemic.


He pointed out that the indifference of some citizens and their lack of commitment to preventive and public safety measures led to an increase in the number of HIV infections, and thus an increase in the number of deaths, noting that the occupancy rate in hospitals and Corona treatment centers has reached 100%.


It should be mentioned that the official Palestinian government spokesman Ibrahim Melhem confirmed that the closure announced by the Nablus, Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorates, for a period of one week, based on the state of emergency declared by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, will include all facilities except for the times announced for opening bakeries and pharmacies.


Melhem added - in a statement reported by the Palestinian News Agency - that the security services will continue to strictly apply the closure measures and safety measures, and that heavy penalties will be imposed on anyone who violates these measures, and Melhem stressed that the government will not hesitate to extend the closure or expand its scope to other governorates. In the event that the epidemic curve continues to rise, calling on citizens to strictly adhere to prevention measures and safety measures, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of their community, and to break the chain of the epidemic, which has become faster and more deadly, which has caused the hospital beds to reach their maximum capacity.


He explained that the closures will include villages and towns surrounding the closed governorates, as Balata and Askar, Hawara, Tal, Bita, Deir Sharaf, Asira, Surra, and Beit Wazzan camps will be closed, and Kafr Aqab, Abu Dis, al-Eizariya, the villages northwest of Jerusalem, and others will be closed. From villages and towns, the movement of cars between governorates will be strictly prohibited, with the exception of medical personnel.
