A poll showed that the British people sympathize with Queen Elizabeth more than Megan Markle and Prince Harry, following an interview they had with US presenter Oprah Winfrey.
And the surprising YouGov poll, published by Mail Online on Tuesday, showed that most of the public’s sympathy lies with the Queen and the royal family after the two-hour interview.
But British public opinion is divided over whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Megan Markle were treated fairly by the royal family.
About 32 percent believe they have been unfairly treated, while an equal percentage - 32 percent - believe this has not happened, and 36 percent do not know.
The royal family is accused of failing to support Megan during her health crisis.
More than a third (36 percent) of those questioned said their sympathy was mostly for the Queen and the rest of the Windsor family, while 22 percent sided with Harry and Megan, 28 percent said they were not siding with any of them, and 8 percent said they supported both of them.
About 48 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 24 support Harry and Meghan, but 55 percent of those over 65 support the Queen.
Age groups also differ greatly on the issue of equity.
Half (50 percent) of those over the age of 65 believe that spouses were treated fairly by the royal family, but 61 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 24 believe they were treated unfairly.
When asked whether joining the royal family was a privilege or a burden, 38 percent said they were both equally, 28 percent said it was a privilege and 23 percent said it was a burden.
The survey was conducted on 4,656 British adults between March 8 and 9. All participants were questioned after the interview, which was broadcast on March 7th, ended.
The poll, conducted by YouGov - also - found that 47 percent felt that the interview was "inappropriate", compared to 21 percent who said that the interview was "appropriate."
The poll results come after Harry and Megan said racism had pushed them out of Britain and claimed that their son Archie was deprived of the title of Prince because he was mixed-race in an interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS that lasted two hours.
In the interview, Megan claimed that she entered the royal family "naively" and did not research her husband or family. Prince Harry accused his father, Prince Charles, of refusing to receive his calls when he and his wife immigrated to the United States last year.
