Researchers at Duke University of America conducted the development of a new strategy around a modern vaccine that works against urinary tract infections, which targets women more than males, as nearly 50% of women suffer from a urinary tract infection at least once during their lifetime, according to the website Medical Express.
The study confirmed that the new vaccine depends on a strategy that reprograms the body to fight the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections, and that there are no effective vaccines available for use in the United States despite the large spread of bladder infection, as the highly effective bladder vaccine succeeds in eliminating residual bladder bacteria and preventing infections In the future.
The strategy includes reprogramming the immune response through resistance to the E. coli bacteria, where the immune system sends repair cells to heal the damaged tissue, and the vaccine works to attack the remaining bacteria, in combination with a known adjuvant to enhance the recruitment of bacterial clearing cells, which demonstrates its effectiveness against the bacteria.
The researchers reported that the new vaccine will be administered into the bladder region in order to eliminate all remaining bladder bacteria, given that the site of administration could be an important consideration in determining the effectiveness of the vaccine.
The researchers also confirmed that the results of the trials of the new bladder vaccine proved its effectiveness and that it was safe for human use and had no complications or side effects.
