The Omani Federation decides to cancel football activity due to the Corona virus

The Oman Football Association decided to cancel the football activity this season represented in the local Premier League "Omantel" championship, the First Division League, and the Women's Futsal League for the 2020-2021 season.

This came after an emergency meeting held by the Omani Federation today, Thursday, noon, headed by Salem bin Saeed bin Salem Al Wahaibi, to discuss the competition's position in light of the outbreak of the Corona virus.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Omani Federation decided to preserve the safety of all athletes participating in its activities for the sports season, by canceling it.

The Supreme Committee in charge of discussing the mechanism of dealing with the Corona virus in the Sultanate of Oman has issued several decisions regarding the epidemiological situation in the country during the coming period, including the postponement of competitions for further notice.

The Omani Federation indicated that the clubs understand the current health situation in the Sultanate, and the implications of the continuing outbreak and increase of the number of people infected with the Corona epidemic.
